Choosing A Wallet

Education about choosing the best wallet for you.

The Sandbox supports some wallet types officially, with more possible additions coming in the future.

The Sandbox is often asked by its newer users for advice on which wallet they could use at The Sandbox. But this choice is actually entirely up to the user themselves. We can, however, offer you some information about them.

Make sure you download or register for a wallet from the official wallet provider's website. There are occassionally fake websites that are trying to trick you into thinking it is the real wallet provider's website. The official links are included in the section below.

The Supported Wallets

MetaMask
  • MetaMask is the most popular wallet on the blockchain at the time of writing.

  • This is a WEB3 wallet. It offers a browser extension so that you can easily access it.

  • MetaMask allows some hardware wallets to be integrated with it.

  • MetaMask supports both Ethereum and Polygon.

  • This wallet is of medium difficulty to set up for the first time, it will take you around ten minutes to set up.

  • According to The Sandbox's community, it is an ideal wallet for staking within The Sandbox.

  • MetaMask is preferred by those who have experience in the blockchain, blockchain gaming, and cryptocurrency.

  • Select the "WEB3" option on The Sandbox registration screen to register with this wallet.

  • The MetaMask official website is: https://metamask.io/.

Coinbase
  • This is a WEB3 wallet. It offers a browser extension to easily access it.

  • The Coinbase wallet provides convenience to crypto traders by being connected to their Coinbase exchange accounts.

  • Coinbase supports both Ethereum and Polygon.

  • This wallet is of medium difficulty to set up for the first time, it will take you around ten minutes to set up.

  • Coinbase is preferred mainly by cryptocurrency traders and investors.

  • Select the "Coinbase" option on The Sandbox registration screen to register with this wallet.

  • The Coinbase official website is: https://www.coinbase.com/join/.

Bitski
  • Bitski is a single sign-on wallet. It does not currently offer a browser extension.

  • Bitski supports Ethereum and Polygon.

  • The wallet is easy to set up for the first time and will take you around five minutes.

  • Bitski is preferred by those who have some but not extensive knowledge in blockchains, blockchain gaming, or cryptocurrency.

  • Select the "Email" option on The Sandbox registration screen to register with this wallet.

  • The official Bitski website is: https://www.bitski.com/.

Venly
  • Venly is a multi-blockchain wallet. It does not currently offer a browser extension.

  • It supports Ethereum and Polygon.

  • According to The Sandbox's Community, this is not a suitable wallet for staking with at The Sandbox.

  • It is very easy to set up for the first time, it will take you around three minutes.

  • Venly is preferred by those with no experience in blockchains, blockchain gaming, or cryptocurrency, it is seen as a basic "entry wallet" for those new to the cryptocurrency space.

  • Select the "Twitter", "Facebook", or "Gmail" option on The Sandbox registration screen to register with this wallet.

  • Venly's official website is: https://www.venly.io/
