What is the marketplace?
On The Sandbox, the marketplace is a place where you will be able to purchase tokens such as ASSETs, LANDs and GEMs.
Voxel artists are able to upload their ASSETs to the marketplace, thus "converting" them into non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The marketplace is the first initial step to tokenising voxel ASSETs. It also introduces artists to the blockchain by presenting them with a non-fiat decentralised marketplace. The marketplace will allow the trading of tokenised ASSETs which are interoperable between different games and different platforms.
When did the Marketplace launch?
The Marketplace launched on the 30th March 2021.
The marketplace will feature NFTs that were created by The Sandbox's Creator Fund, which will be available for purchase. A fee of 5% is added on top of all marketplace transactions. The revenue from these sales will be split - 95% will go to the artist who created the NFT and the 5% that was added on top will go towards financing more creators to produce high quality content in the Creator Fund and Game Maker Fund programs.

Who can upload NFTs to the Marketplace?
At first, only approved voxel artists, for example those who are a part of The Sandbox's Creator Fund, will be able to upload their NFTs to the marketplace. Other community members and artists will be able to upload at a later date.
