How To Purchase LAND at The Sandbox

A guide to purchasing LAND at The Sandbox from official sales

Before The Sale Starts

Step One

If you have not done so already, register for an account at The Sandbox. 🔗 Guide: How to create an account at The Sandbox.

You will also need to connect a cryptocurrency wallet to this account. We recommend using a hardware wallet for extra security, but the choice is yours. 🔗 Article: What is a cryptocurrency wallet & why do you need one? 🔗 Article: What is a hardware wallet & do I need one?

Step Two

Once you are registered, you now need to go through the Know Your Customer (KYC) process. This is for security reasons, as well as to counter potential botting. 🔗 The KYC page & guide is found in your account settings at The Sandbox.

This process is automated and will take on average around 12 minutes.

However, if there is an issue with your ID documents, for example if they are damaged or the automated system believes they are forgeries, the process could instead take 48 hours. This is avoided by following instructions correctly and not attempting to submit fraudulent documents.

Attempting to use false documents or documents that are not your own is a criminal offence known as fraud, which is punishable by very large fines and lengthy prison sentences in most countries. The Sandbox has the right to enforce actions against those attempting to commit fraud, including permanent bans from entering public sales and events.

Step Three

Ensure that you have the right amount of SAND in the wallet that you connected to your account, depending on the sale(s) you wish to enter the raffle for.

Regular LAND

Costs 1,011 SAND.

Is not close to partner ESTATEs, and does not come with additional NFTs.

Premium LAND

Costs 4,683 SAND.

Is close to or touching partner ESTATEs, and comes with additional NFTs.

You may only win one raffle

For example, if you win the Premium LAND Sale Raffle, you cannot win the Regular LAND Sale Raffle as well.

This SAND needs to be bridged to the Polygon network, if it is not already, or if you did not purchase it directly on the Polygon network. 🔗 Guide: Bridging SAND from Ethereum to Polygon.

The bridging process can take up to an hour - or potentially longer on busier congested days - The Sandbox has no control over congestion on the blockchain. So make sure your SAND is prepared long before the sale launches.

Entering The Raffle

Step One

Go to the LAND Sale page: https://sandbox.game/landsale.

Step Two

Then click the Enter Raffle button and select which raffle you'd like to join - the Regular LAND Sale, the Premium LAND Sale, or both.

Purchasing LAND

Step One

Keep an eye on The Sandbox website and your email for a notification of whether you won the raffle. If you have, go to the LAND Sale webpage.

Step Two

Press the Buy LAND button to purchase a LAND.

Your cryptocurrency wallet will then pop open and ask you to confirm the transaction, including the gas fee. Sign to confirm the transaction if you are happy with it.

Step Three

Your wallet will now process the transaction on the blockchain, then deliver the LAND to your wallet if it is successful. The time it takes a transaction to process depends on the overall congestion on the blockchain at the time.
